Tuzcu's first album “Between 12 Waters” was released through Palma Records in 2016. Critically acclaimed by the media around the world including United States, Spain, Italy, Netherlands and Turkey, the album, which consists of 12 songs, is influenced from 12 different cultures.
Among the reviews, Hürriyet the top selling daily national newspaper in Turkey, simply stated: “Here’s our calling to anyone who would like to listen good music and to discover someone who’s likely to make his mark in the coming years: Follow Alper Tuzcu.”
During 2016, Tuzcu also expanded his music career with Ark by touring in United States and releasing their debut EP: "Lately". The duo was not only widely featured in local American media, including the Emmy nominated "502 Sessions" at Dedham TV and WEMF FM; but also on international media as well. The duo has been performing at venues such as Hard Rock Cafe Boston, Sidewalk in New York City and YouBloom Festival in Los Angeles. Additionally, Tuzcu has performed in venues such as Goethe-Institut Boston and Multicultural Center Cambridge.
In 2014, Tuzcu has founded the critically acclaimed Brazilian/Mediterranean music duo project “Aigua” which was based in Valencia, Spain.
Tuzcu's educational background goes back to studying songwriting and music production at the prestigious Berklee College of Music where he studied as a scholarship student, which was granted during Berklee’s Umbria Jazz Clinics program in Perugia, Italy in 2012. While studying at Berklee, he studied with and attended workshops of musicians such as Michael League (Snarky Puppy), Sergio Diaz Martinez (Paco de Lucia, Paul Simon), Antonio Sanchez, Pat Pattison, Bonnie Hayes, Melissa Ferrick, Sarah Brindell, , Sofia Rei and Guinga.
Tuzcu continues to explore different cultures and opportunities to strive as a global musician.
